So Mekkah messaged me a couple weeks ago on Facebook..."Lydia do you think you could get some shots of me I want to see what you can get with my backdrops" lol!. She grew up in the same church as my Husband but this was only my second time meeting her LOVE THIS GIRL!! OH did I mention she also is a Photographer!!! while I am mainly a on-location Photographer and backdrops are not really my thing it was so great to be able to connect with another Photog and talk we did get some outside shots but yea it was 26 degrees FREEEZINGGG LOL! and as you'll see she was wearing short sleeves!!! ok enough! cant wait to get up with her again.

Thinking on Things Above

So this weekend I had a ton of thoughts running through my head that were just down and out. it seemed as though everything I was thinking of was an issue or a worry about some future event. As I was sitting on my couch the Lord brought something to my remembrance (as he said he would do). He reminded me to think on things above and not on things below (Colossians 3:2). why is that? because when we even give an ounce of consideration to our "problems" we give them power even to talk about our problems while depending on the issue may be helpful it also seems to bring them to the forefront when if JESUS is at our forefront all other things fade away in his light. for most of us the things we worry about have NOT even happened they are simply  manufactured to keep our eyes away from the prize. I encourage you to look back at some of your times of peace and happiness and ask yourself what was the difference?  I'm telling you those problems and worries could have been there but they were not because you were focused on something different something greater Jesus, Friends, family etc... so this week Focus on things above your issues and your problems and in that light everything else will be made dim.

Speaking of things ABOVE here are my shots of the moon the other night. for those of you who dont know it was the closest to the earth in 20 years I was able to get some pretty good detail thanks to my 70-200mm (for those of you who speak photog lol)

Sue - Anytime

This weekend I had so much fun with an awesome women Sue. Sue contacted me and asked to schedule a shoot "just because" (I LOVE IT!). She was so excited we didnt even wait for the weather to get warmer although it was a decent 45 degrees this past Saturday, when your in a casual dress its FREEEZZZIIINNG! but she banged this session out. In between shots she would grab her sweater and hurdle it around her until we found our next position but once you look below it was so worth it. Sue has within the past couple years gone through weightloss surgery and while I am convinced after seeing her before photos that she was absolutely gorgeous even then her radiance shows through now through her photos. check it out.

One Amazing Women...

Robin McSkimming is a Youth Pastor at Graceway Ministries in Schenectady, N.Y.  She has been doing this for years, in fact, she was my youth leader when I was younger.  I hope that doesn't give away to much about her age lol! ;-) She has been such a blessing in my life going back to when I was a child words cannot express what she has done for me and countless other youth in our area.  She is remarkable!!!  If you don't know her...you need to...shes a rare pearl.  I was so honored to be able to take some shots of her today just for Church use and of course we had some fun!  Here are a few shots I just finished.
